Description

In this 8 week course, students will build a sitting bench, perfect for kicking your shoes off at the end of a long day. Using a minimal tool list, students will learn how to build a staked bench using techniques that will serve as a foundation for building high quality furniture that will last generations.

Students will learn how to:

  • Set & use a hand plane
  • Create a spring joint
  • Layout and drill compound angles
  • Make tapered mortise & tenon joints
  • Octagonalize and taper legs
  • Level legs to the floor

 

Most tools will be available for students to use. A tool list will be sent out before the start of class if you would like to bring your own.

This class is appropriate for all levels of wood working skills.
