Description

Become a certified medical coder by earning your Certified Professional Coder (CPC^®) credential, the most recognized medical coding certification in the healthcare industry. The CPC^® is the gold standard for medical coding in physician office settings. AAPC  represents members working in medical coding, auditing, regulatory compliance, revenue cycle management, and practice management.

The CPC examination consists of questions regarding the correct application of CPT®, HCPCS Level II procedure and supply codes and ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes used for coding and billing professional medical services to insurance companies. Examinees must also demonstrate knowledge on proper modifier use, coding guidelines and regulatory rules.

The open code book CPC^® exam has 150 multiple choice questions. You will have 5 hours and 40 minutes to finish the exam and one free retake. The cost to take this exam proctored by the AAPC is $425.
