The U.S. market for nail services saw revenues of $8.5 billion in 2017, according to statistics company Statista. Nail technicians, also referred to as manicurists and pedicurists, will reap the rewards of this thriving industry. Employment for manicurists and pedicurists is expected to increase by 13% from 2016 – 2026 with a 2018 median annual wage of $38,640. (Bureau of Labor Statistics Employment Projections).

In all states, except Connecticut, nail technicians must hold a valid state license in order to practice legally. Some states, like California, require as much as 600 hours of training through a nail technician program, while other states, like Massachusetts, require as little as 100 hours of training. After completing the program, nail technicians must take written and practical exams to get a license through their state board.

Enrollment is limited to 12 students.
