In this popular 8 week course students will build a cricket table, a small, three-legged, round table also known as a drinking table or tavern table. Using a minimal tool list, students will learn how to build a staked-style cricket table using techniques that will serve as a foundation for building high quality furniture that will last generations.

Students will learn how to:

  • Set and use a hand plane

  • Create a spring joint

  • Layout and cut half-lap joints

  • Layout and drill compound angles

  • Make tapered mortise and tenon joints

  • Octagonalize and taper legs

  • Level legs to the floor

Most tools will be available for students to use. A tool list will be sent out before the start of class if you would like to bring your own.

This class is appropriate for all levels of woodworking skills.
