Are you interested in becoming a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)? This course will prepare you for work in a laboratory or clinical setting, collecting blood for testing or donation, and provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to take the CPT exam accredited by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) during the last class.
Phlebotomists are employed throughout the healthcare system including in hospitals, neighborhood health centers, medical group practices, HMO’s, public health facilities, veteran hospitals, insurance carriers, and in other healthcare settings. The Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood and other specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis.
Applicants for certification should have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
Class: 84 hours
Externship (optional): 120 hours
Students may be subject to a CORI check and drug testing (approximate cost to student $50) before placement in a clinical facility.
