Description

In this course, participants will develop websites using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. HTML is a standard markup language used to create web pages. CSS is a stylesheet language used to determine the look and feel of web pages. Javascript is a programming language that allows a web page to become interactive. Through Javascript, participants will learn the fundamentals of high-level programming languages: variables, conditional statements, loops, input, output, debugging, etc.

Instructor Jennifer Hardy is Lead Programming and Web Development teacher at Worcester Technical High School with 15 years combined experience as a software engineer and high school educator. Jennifer takes her experience at a research and development lab developing software for avionic and submersible platforms to the classroom focusing on the skills needed for software development. These skills include critical and collaborative thinking, a willingness to fail, curiosity and life long learning.
