Time: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-9:30 pm, Saturdays 8am – 4pm  42 classes, 220 hours.  January 3, 2023- April 13, 2023 (14 weeks)

Students will utilize online CDX medium/heavy software textbooks which is included in the price of the program.

Description

During this 220 hour course, you will learn the basic skills and knowledge needed to become a successful entry-level diesel technician. Classroom instruction will be followed by hands-on practice working under the supervision of experienced instructors. Topics include safety, suspension, brakes, steering systems, exhaust and emissions, four-stroke engine theory, design characteristics, service techniques, diagnostics and repair strategies. You will disassemble, measure, inspect and reassemble diesel engines in accordance with factory blueprint specifications.

DESE Diesel Certified instructor, David Tefft  is an industry leader who has years of experience running his own trucking company and working as a diesel technician.  His experience teaching High School and Post Secondary students allows him to provide student swith a robust hands on education. Our program will also offer students the opportunity to interact with industry partners who are looking to employ trained Diesel Technicians and Truck Drivers.

Employment for diesel technicians is expected to increase by 9% from 2016 – 2026 with a 2018 median annual wage of $47,350 (Bureau of Labor Statistics Employment Projections).
